I know it's been a while since I posted, but lots has been going on. My beautiful Grandson has moved to another state...big fat tear placed here, and I finally became a facebook follower...takes time to figure out, and I'm just plain busy at work and home.
My new landscape, of which I do have pictures, but they are still in the camera waiting for me to download, will appear when I have time to download and then upload them. Sometimes I think, WOW technology has come a long way, but now I need more time to look at all of the mentioned websites. I don't know about you, but I don't have a lot of "free time". Once I get this all figured out, and fine tune my schedule then maybe I will feel, and maybe even be a little more tech savvy. Hmmm, only time and desire will tell.

In My Shoes

Hi,
Just thought this was so cute. MC2 put on a pair of red boots that were sitting in the corner and is trying to walk in them. You can't tell from the picture, but he just went through a big growth spurt. He has lost his cute little fat belly. I guess I will just have to feed that boy more. Just thought I would share.

Working, Babysitting, Enjoying Life!!!
I'm back to work now and enjoying it. I'm taking care of my beautiful Grandson, Michael, every Wednesday and loving it. I really like my new hip, the no pain part is awesome. Life, I don't think, could get any better...well maybe a couple of million dollars would change my mind, but at this point I doubt it.
Wednesday is my favorite day of the week. I take Michael to the library in the morning and we watch the puppet show or listen to a story, then he plays on the computer there. It is a really cool branch of the public library just for children 7 and under. He loves it. Then we go to lunch and he takes a nap. Then we play, and play, and play in the yard where I take lots of pictures. I think I am going to take him to the children's zoo this Wednesday. That is the best part of the Dallas Zoo anyways. He loves animals. He would love his cousin Heather's goats.
The picture above is in the front yard on his radio flyer rocket. I bought that for his first birthday. He loves cars and bikes of all sorts. He is so adorable. As anyone can see I love my days with him.
Take care everyone, hope your life is just as good.

Back to Work!
Hi,
I am going back to work tomorrow!!! Yeah! I am so excited. One can only stay home for so long before one goes crazy. Notice I am calling myself "one". Think I'm a little crazy (crazy to be said in a sing song voice!!! Ha Ha!).
See ya,
Robin

Going No Where Fast

Hi,
Just thought this was funny. I had to buy a new bike because I can't swing my leg over the bar on the mountain bike anymore. This is the latest rage in bikes in Dallas right now and I find it humorous. All I need is a basket and the song from the Wizard of Oz. Betty Lou doesn't look like Todo, but you get the idea. As you can see it is part of my therapy and I love it. I can't wait to ride it outside around White Rock Lake. White Rock Lake is only a 1/2 a mile from my house and in my neighborhood. Right now the bike is on a stationary stand and I ride it 3 to 4 times everyday to help my hip with strength and reduce swelling. It's great! Savanah loves to say to me "call, don't fall" when I talk about riding it on the street right now. She is such a smart mouth sometimes, but a funny smart mouth.
Anyways, I hope you all get a chuckle out of the picture. I did.
Love you all,
Robin

Still Home
Hi there,
I'm still home, walking with the cane and waiting to go back to work. I want to go back this week, but my torture therapist said no. I'll argue with him again tomorrow, maybe I'll win. I don't have to go back until Feb. 12, but I think I'm ready now. I guess I should be grateful because I know I'm going back to a lot of work that has been stacking up. I do miss my job.
Anyways, I hope this finds you all well and happy.

No, Really a cane now!
Hi All,
I know that I posted that I got a cane and I did, I just couldn't use it yet. I tried and tried, but to no avail. Frustrating! Today I had more torture therapy and I used the cane. I now can practice everyday, with supervision of course, so it should hopefully be only another week and then I can go back to work, I hope. I have to be stable on the cane before I can go back to work. I tell you, I feel very frustrated that this is taking so long. Also, I feel stupid for not having the ability to walk right in the first place, I walked before surgery, why can't I walk now? The ring master of torture therapy tells me that it is my hip flexor muscle, which is so tight, holding everything up. I asked him if we should inject it with botox so it would relax (just a joke of course, but a desperate one) for 6 months or so and he laughed at me (he got the joke), but of course he promptly told me no. I knew the answer before he said it, but now you all can see how frustrated I am. I know it will be over soon and I need to relax so I will.
I hope everyone is doing well now that the holidays are over. Today is a good day. We have a new president, I can walk, kind of, with a cane, and life is good. All things I am grateful for. Take care of yourselves.

Christmas Picture

Howdy,
I know I'm a doting Grandmother, but how can I stop myself, he is so cute I just want to bite his little cheek. I bought him this little red fold up chair and he loves it. Savanah sat in it and he pushed her out of it, kind of funny. Serena didn't like him doing that, but he's not even 2 years old yet. What can I say, he's adorable.

A Cane! A Cane!
Yesterday I got a cane! Yippee, no crutches except for bedtime and if I'm not wearing shoes. You all don't know, but they tried to make my legs the same length, but they made it almost 1/2" longer. Now my left leg is 1/2" longer than my right leg (oposite problem from before surgery when my left leg was 1/2" shorter). Anyways, I am now 5'4" instead of 5'3 1/2". Score! Now my drivers license is incorrect, funny huh. I had to go and get an insert for the right shoe yesterday so it doesn't feel like I'm tottering over on a long leg, and it worked really well. Hopefully by next week I'll be walking normally and then maybe I can go back to work.

Savanah's TV debut today!
Hey All,
Savanah was on TV this morning on a show called "Good Morning Texas" for a before and after thing with her hair; and she looked good. Check out this link to see her sitting for the camera in the red sweater dress. I thought she looked really nice. The funny thing was that they took such a bad before picture that anything would have looked better than that, but that is the magic of TV I guess. I sent her a text message just after she was done and took all of the credit, of course. I told her, "I sure know how to make pretty kids" and thank goodness she laughed. One thing though, I'm sure I'm right on this point. Oh well, hope you can see this clip. If you can't let me know and I'll fix the link.

I'm Doing Well
Howdy,
Well, I've had PT for almost 3 weeks now and it really has helped. I thought it would go a little quicker than it has, but I guess a few more weeks won't matter. I'm a little disappointed, simply because I fully expected to return to work just after the New Years, but NO. Now I am hoping to go back maybe by January 19. I just finished another session of PT, also known as torture, and my therapist will bring me a cane hopefully on Friday. I can hardly wait to get rid of these crutches. I will say though, that my flabby triceps, you know those extra wings we women get under our arms that just keep waving when we aren't, are gone thanks to crutches...now I know why my arms are sooo big, hmmm crutches for 3 years tends to give one very large biceps, deltoids, and very tone triceps. Too bad crutches don't work on my flabby belly, also known as my muffin top. At least it is just a muffin top at this point and not a radial tire, so I shouldn't complain.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I had a great time at Savanah's apartment on Christmas. Little Michael loves Rock Band, so of course we played it over and over again. He likes the drums and the microphone. He slobbered all over the microphone so much that we had to stop playing to let it dry out. It was pretty funny. I still have to download those pictures, but when I do I'll edit this post and attach a picture of him playing Rock Band. Yes, I'm a dumb struck Grandma when it comes to my Grandson. He is so cute.
Take care of yourselves,
Robin
